ONSITE PROJECT ENGINEER
at the LAX Consolidated Rent-A-Car (ConRAC) Facility

JOB SUMMARY:
The Onsite Project Engineer is responsible for providing onsite value and assistance in project administration, scheduling and engineering for Supply Patriot’s involvement on the Consolidated Rental Car (ConRAC) facility at LAX. Work directly with the performing subcontractor’s project management team, as well as, the onsite craft foreman and superintendent to plan, coordinate and manage on-site construction activities, including the procurement and delivery of construction materials, and effectively execute the goals of the project.
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Consolidated Rent-A-Car (ConRAC) facility will relocate over 20 existing rental car locations scattered around the airport area into one convenient location adjacent to the 405 freeway. The facility will be connected to the Automated People Mover (APM) and feature over 18,000 vehicle spaces and Quick Turn Around (QTA) Facilities that allow for car washing, fueling and light maintenance.

Project Size: 6.3 million square-feet(just slightly smaller than the U.S. Pentagon considered to be one of the world’s largest buildings at 6.5-million square-feet)
Project Budget: $1 billion-plus
Project Stat: 265,000 cubic yards of concrete(ConRAC is estimated to be the largest cast-in-place concrete project of its kind in the U.S.)

SPECIFIC POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee project reporting including daily logs, safety reports, schedules, etc.
- Execute and manage sales order acknowledgements, purchase orders, change orders, and scheduling,
- Provide up to date details of the materials during project
- Identify issues and challenges at the jobsite and work to develop and implement solutions promptly
- Interface with all involved entities including GC, subcontractor(s), drivers, manufacturers, etc. to accomplish necessary project tasks, reporting, etc. to keep project on schedule
- Maintain site safety and risk management processes in accordance with the safety program of all involved entities project owner, GC, subcontractor(s), etc.
- Participate in professional organizations to ensure updated knowledge of trends and practices within the construction industry
- Take daily photos of job site, organizing them and uploading them into the project folders
- Validate and manage delivery tickets to ensure item(s) delivered match the ticket for accurate invoicing
- Assist Superintendent with any coordination, procurement, concrete checklists, daily reporting, material & equipment delivery/tracking/logs, etc. as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- IDEAL OPPORTUNITY FOR CIVIL ENGINEERING or CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT MAJOR (JUNIOR OR SENIOR W/ AFTERNOON and/or EVENING CLASSES)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering Management, Civil Engineering or related field; Will also consider individuals with an Associate’s degree with field experience.
- Outstanding aptitude for math, SUPER attention to detail, and computer proficiency
- Flexibility and a willingness to perform a variety of support tasks are essential to success in this position
- Quick learner with a desire to grow, learn, and master new knowledge and skills
- Above average oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Keen understanding of prioritization and extremely well organized
- Ability to lift up to 25-lbs and sit for long periods of time working on a computer
